Founder of Slippers, a creative arts center. This involved renovating an old building on Main Street in Viroqua, Wisconsin; building a dance program, music series, theatre series, events, art gallery, and hall rental business; and marketing the business to build a large customer base in Viroqua, LaCrosse, and surrounding communities. Julie also provided ballroom, latin, and swing dance lessons as a professional dance teacher. In its first year of business (2004), Slippers was nominated for Wisconsin’s Main Street Business of the Year.
